This gust blog post is written by Jasmine Habeeb, a somatic therapist based in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. She can be found at ClarityTherapyTX.com. The ultimate goal is to feel better. For too long you have struggled with autoimmune, upset  stomach, headaches, skin issues, etc. The amount of doctors, experts, and healers you’ve  seen has surpassed the fingers on your hands.   How we heal has been broken apart and segmented into specialties – assuming that if we fix  this one part of our body, everything will miraculously start working well again.   Quantum – a fancy word for the smallest possible particle – healing tells us a different story.   At the cellular level – I’m talking mitochondria, electrons, protons, and all those fun biology,  chemistry, and physics terms otherwise applied to nature and inanimate objects – tells us  that all of our bodily experiences impact each other equally.   From stressful events, negative emotions, down to the quality of water and food, your life  and bodily experiences all contribute to how you feel physically and mentally.   The big question is – what do you do about it?   As a somatic therapist, I think it is absolutely critical to take the impact of lifestyle, thought  patterns, upbringing, and nutrition into consideration when supporting my clients through a  mental health perspective.   Somatic healing is the mental health view of how trauma, uncomfortable emotions, and  stress can live in our bodies, affecting our overall well-being. Addressing these issues at a  cellular level, quantum healing with a somatic approach, allows for deep transformation and  restoration.   Everything about our bodily processes strives for homeostasis – a fancy word for everything  working together in balance. When there is an imbalance, or something is just off, our body  does everything it can to restore balance… even if that means developing an autoimmune  disorder or some other medical/mental ailment.  Our bodies possess innate healing wisdom and abilities – look into autophagy (cell death).  Although the idea that our bodies create autoimmune, cancer, allergies, etc. is widely  disputed, one thing is well established – our environment, what we eat, and our emotions  affect what happens inside our bodies and mind.   What came first, the chicken or the egg?   In the mental health space there is no iron clad conclusion that our mind is the sole cause of  our behavior nor that our body is the sole cause of mental distress. What is solid fact is that  there is a connection between the mind and body.   Quantum healing tells us that all these factors play a role.   Your nervous system, the ultimate communicator, is critical for the cells in your body to  […]

Sauerkraut and other fermented foods such as yogurt, kefir, and kvass are considered some of the first (good for you!) processed food products consumed by humans. They have been a food staple of nearly all cultures for thousands of years.  Once upon a time, fermentation—when Lactobacillus bacteria beneficially alters food—was one of only a few […]
