Testing for food sensitivities is one thing, but what about the nitty gritty, like essential minerals and vitamins that our bodies need to thrive effectively?

Over the years, we have seen a steady decline in micronutrients such as these in our soils and in our food. So much of our health depends on these smaller nutrients, chromium for carbohydrate metabolism, magnesium for nerve function, just to name a few. This is another important reason to assess where your levels are at and where you need support the most.

This is where Micronutrient testing comes in. Micronutrient testing offers a comprehensive, detailed look at the possible micronutrient deficiencies you may be struggling with.

Just as there is a wide variety of vitamins and minerals that are essential to our daily function, there is also a wide range of symptoms. Keep in mind that many of these symptoms can also be related to other imbalances or conditions as well.

Every physiological function in your body depends on the intimate balance of micronutrients.

Vitamins and minerals play a key role in:

  • Keeping your immune system strong and functioning well

  • Tamping down systemic inflammation

  • Promoting healthy skin, nails, teeth, and hair

  • Balancing blood sugar

  • Properly balanced hormones (thyroid, sex hormones, adrenal, etc.)

After your test results are back, we will schedule a follow-up appointment to discuss the findings. We will also be updating your protocol in accordance to what your body's needs are at the time.

We will be looking at a couple of different issues:

1. Are you not consuming enough foods containing these minerals and vitamins that you are deficient in?

2. Are there potential digestive or gut absorption issues where you do not have access to these nutrients?

3. What else is present that could be causing these deficiencies?

Once things are set in motion, I will place an order for your micronutrient test and you will receive the test direct to your front door, which you can take to a lab for blood draw. If more convenient, there is also the option of arranging for a mobile phlebotomist to come to you!

This is no ordinary blood test. Instead of looking at straight serum levels, this is an intracellular test. This type of testing gives you a look into the past 4-6 months of your nutritional status, giving us a much broader picture than what is going on inside right this moment.

Expecting Mothers (and breastfeeding too!)

Providing your little ones the fuel they need to grow properly can be tricky if you are deficient in several micronutrients. Breastfeeding is a crucial time for all of us as infants, it is a time where our gut is colonized with beneficial bacteria, setting the stage for our microbial "expression." It can be tricky to get everything we need just by taking supplements, and when you are a new mom you have even less time for this. Running a micronutrient test, paired with a protocol designed just for you (especially if you have food sensitivities), can help further support you and your new blessing.

Busy Moms

Okay, you got past the toddler stage (whew!), but there is still more demand put upon your body every day as you raise your brood. Stress is a significant factor when it comes to imbalance in our health, and essential vitamins and minerals are some of the first to go. Establishing a set protocol that takes into account your stress levels, your gut health, and also any micronutrient deficiencies, such as zinc or B vitamins, can help you get over that drained feeling and get you back to being super mom!

...And Pretty Much Every Other Stage in Life

Whether you have an anxiety-inducing commute, or a checkered past of being up and down constantly with diets, this test is for you too. Our bodies as women are highly susceptible to stress, whether it be external or internal. Our bodies do not determine the difference between the "normal" wear-and-tear of every day and "running away from the tiger": our bodies see it all as something to defend against. Over time, this can lead to deficiencies and "burning out."

Micronutrient testing is like looking at your checks and balances within your body, and it helps me guide you to the right protocol for you on an even deeper level.
